Nomenclatural History
The species Porphyromonas catoniae was originally described and validly published by Willems and Collins 1995. Hahnke et al. published an emended description of this species in 2016. Willems and Collins formed this name in 1995 by placing the species Moore and Moore 1994 into the genus Shah and Collins 1988 emend. Kawamura et al. 2015.
