Nomenclatural History
The species Porphyromonas levii was originally described and validly published by Shah et al. 1995. Hahnke et al. published an emended description of this species in 2016. Shah et al. formed this name in 1995 by placing the species (ex Holdeman et al. 1977) Johnson and Holdeman 1983 into the genus Shah and Collins 1988 emend. Kawamura et al. 2015.
