Nomenclatural History	The species Flectobacillus marinus was originally described by Borrall and Larkin 1978. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Borrall and Larkin formed this name in 1978 by placing the species Microcyclus marinus Raj 1976 into the genus Flectobacillus Larkin et al. 1977 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Ramaprasad et al. 2015. In 1990, Raj and Maloy established Flectobacillus marinus as the basonym of Cyclobacterium marinum corrig. (Raj 1976) Raj and Maloy 1990 emend. Hahnke et al. 2016 .
