Nomenclatural History
The species Flammeovirga aprica was originally described and validly published by Nakagawa et al. 1997. Takahashi et al. published an emended description of this species in 2006. Nakagawa et al. formed this name in 1997 by placing the species (ex Lewin 1969) Reichenbach 1989 into the genus Nakagawa et al. 1997 emend. Takahashi et al. 2006.
