Nomenclatural History
|
The species Prosthecobacter fusiformis was originally described by Staley et al. 1976. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1980 the name was revived and validly published by Staley et al.. García-López et al. published an emended description of this species in 2019.
