Nomenclatural History
The genus Aquimarina was originally proposed and validly published by Nedashkovskaya et al. 2005. Nedashkovskaya et al. published an emended description of this genus in 2006. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Lee et al. in 2017. Nedashkovskaya et al. transferred the members of Nedashkovskaya et al. 2005 into this genus in 2006. Nedashkovskaya et al. transferred the members of Yoon et al. 2006 into this genus in 2006.
