Nomenclatural History	The species Photobacterium indicum was originally described and validly published by Ivanova et al. 2004. Xie and Yokota formed this name in 2004 by placing the species Hyphomicrobium indicum Johnson and Weisrock 1969 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Photobacterium Beijerinck 1889 (Approved Lists 1980).
