Nomenclatural History
The genus Amorphosporangium was originally proposed by Couch 1963. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Couch and Bland published an emended description of this genus in 1974. Stackebrandt and Kroppenstedt transferred the members of this genus into Couch 1950 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Nouioui et al. 2018 in 1987.
