The species Microellobosporia violacea was originally described by Pridham 1974. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Goodfellow et al. established as an earlier homotypic synonym of Goodfellow et al. 1986 pro synon. Microellobosporia violacea (Tsyganov et al. 1964) Pridham 1974 (Approved Lists 1980) in 1986.
