The species Moraxella (Moraxella) osloensis was originally described and validly published by Bøvre 1979. This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 83 in 2008. Bøvre formed this name in 1979 by placing the species Bøvre and Henriksen 1967 (Approved Lists 1980) into the subgenus Bøvre 1979.
