Nomenclatural History
|
The species Beneckea gazogenes was originally described by Harwood 1978. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1980 the name was revived and validly published by Harwood et al.. In 1980, Baumann et al. established Beneckea gazogenes as the basonym of
Vibrio gazogenes (Harwood et al. 1980) Baumann et al. 1981
.
