Nomenclatural History
The species Pimelobacter tumescens was originally described by Suzuki and Komagata 1983. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 11 in 1983. Suzuki and Komagata formed this name in 1983 by placing the species (Jensen 1934) Conn and Dimmick 1947 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Suzuki and Komagata 1983. In 1989, Collins et al. established as the basonym of (Jensen 1934) Collins et al. 1989 .
