Nomenclatural History

The species Amycolata hydrocarbonoxydans was originally described and validly published by Lechevalier et al. 1986. Lechevalier et al. formed this name in 1986 by placing the species
Nocardia hydrocarbonoxydans Nolof and Hirsch 1962 (Approved Lists 1980)
into the genus Pseudonocardia Henssen 1957 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Park et al. 2008. In 1994, Warwick et al. established Amycolata hydrocarbonoxydans as the basonym of
Pseudonocardia hydrocarbonoxydans (Nolof and Hirsch 1962) Warwick et al. 1994
