The species Rochalimaea elizabethae was originally described by Daly et al. 1993. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 46 in 1993. In 1993, Brenner et al. established as the basonym of (Daly et al. 1993) Brenner et al. 1993 emend. Hördt et al. 2020 .
