Nomenclatural History
The species Halorubrobacterium sodomense was originally described by Kamekura and Dyall-Smith 1995. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 57 in 1996. Kamekura and Dyall-Smith formed this name in 1995 by placing the species Oren 1983 into the genus McGenity and Grant 1996 emend. Oren et al. 2009. Oren and Ventosa established as a later homotypic synonym of (Oren 1983) McGenity and Grant 1996 in 1996.
