Nomenclatural History	The species Halorubrobacterium distributum was originally described by Kamekura and Dyall-Smith 1995. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 57 in 1996. Kamekura and Dyall-Smith formed this name in 1995 by placing the species Halobacterium distributum corrig. Zvyagintseva and Tarasov 1989 into the genus Halorubrum McGenity and Grant 1996 emend. Oren et al. 2009. In 1996, Oren and Ventosa established Halorubrobacterium distributum as the basonym of Halorubrum distributum (Zvyagintseva and Tarasov 1989) Oren and Ventosa 1996 emend. Infante-Domínguez et al. 2020 .
