Nomenclatural History	The species Leifsonia cynodontis was originally described by Suzuki et al. 1999. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 75 in 2000. Suzuki et al. elevated the subspecies Leifsonia xyli cynodontis (Davis et al. 1984) Evtushenko et al. 2000 to the rank of species to form this name in 1999.
