Nomenclatural History
The species Leucobacter chromiireducens was originally described by Morais et al. 2004. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 102 in 2005. Muir and Tan published an emended description of this species in 2007. In 2007, Muir and Tan reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (Morais et al. 2005) Muir and Tan 2007 .
