The species Bacillus oshimensis was originally described and validly published by Yumoto et al. 2005. Liu et al. published an emended description of this species in 2019. Liu et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Borchert et al. 2007 in 2019. Liu et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Ghosh et al. 2007 in 2019. In 2020, Patel and Gupta established as the basonym of (Yumoto et al. 2005) Patel and Gupta 2020 . In 2021, Joshi et al. established as the basonym of (Yumoto et al. 2005) Joshi et al. 2022 .
