Nomenclatural History
The species Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans was originally described and validly published by Nørskov-Lauritsen and Kilian 2006. Nørskov-Lauritsen and Kilian formed this name in 2006 by placing the species (Klinger 1912) Potts et al. 1985 into the genus Nørskov-Lauritsen and Kilian 2006.

Although Nørskov-Lauritsen and Kilian 2006 declared that Haemophilus actinomycetemcomitans and Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans are homotypic synonyms, the resulting event was simply a new combination, and Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans has priority.
