Nomenclatural History
The species Chitinophaga japonensis was originally described and validly published by Kämpfer et al. 2006. Hahnke et al. published an emended description of this species in 2016. Kämpfer et al. formed this name in 2006 by placing the species Fujita et al. 1997 into the genus Sangkhobol and Skerman 1981 emend. Kämpfer et al. 2011.
