Nomenclatural History
The species Phaeobacter gallaeciensis was originally described and validly published by Martens et al. 2006. Hördt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. Martens et al. formed this name in 2006 by placing the species Ruiz-Ponte et al. 1998 into the genus Martens et al. 2006 emend. Wirth and Whitman 2018.
