Nomenclatural History	The species Sphingobium cloacae was originally described and validly published by Prakash and Lal 2006. Hördt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. Prakash and Lal formed this name in 2006 by placing the species Sphingomonas cloacae Fujii et al. 2001 into the genus Sphingobium Takeuchi et al. 2001 emend. Li et al. 2013.
