Nomenclatural History
The species Pelagibaca bermudensis was originally described and validly published by Cho and Giovannoni 2006. Hördt et al. published an emended description of this species in 2020. In 2018, Wirth and Whitman established as the basonym of (Cho and Giovannoni 2006) Wirth and Whitman 2018 emend. Hördt et al. 2020 .
