Nomenclatural History
The genus Gemmobacter was originally proposed by Rothe et al. 1987. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 26 in 1988. Chen et al. published an emended description of this genus in 2013. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Kang et al. in 2017. Chen et al. transferred the members of Tanaka et al. 2004 emend. Zhang et al. 2012 into this genus in 2013.
