Nomenclatural History
|
The species Paracoccus denitrificans was originally described by Davis et al. 1969. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Nokhal and Schlegel published an emended description of this species in 1983. Subsequent emendations were proposed by Ludwig et al. in 1993, Rainey et al. in 1999 and Hördt et al. in 2020. Ludwig et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Thiosphaera pantotropha Robertson and Kuenen 1984
in 1993.
