Nomenclatural History	The species Ruegeria gelatinovorans was originally described by Uchino et al. 1998. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 68 in 1999. Upon validation, this name was corrected from Ruegeria gelatinovora (sic) to Ruegeria gelatinovorans . Uchino et al. formed this name in 1998 by placing the species Agrobacterium gelatinovorum (ex Ahrens 1968) Rüger and Höfle 1992 into the genus Ruegeria Uchino et al. 1999 emend. Wirth and Whitman 2018. In 2005, Arahal et al. established Ruegeria gelatinovorans as the basonym of Thalassobius gelatinovorus (Rüger and Höfle 1992) Arahal et al. 2006 .
