Nomenclatural History
|
The species Seliberia stellata was originally described by Aristovskaya and Parinkina 1963. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Velázquez et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Bradyrhizobium betae Rivas et al. 2004
in 2015.
The type strain of this species, which is also the type species of the genus, is the subject of a pending Request for and Opinion. The claim is that the currently despoited type material does not conform to the published description and is a strain of Rhizobium betae.
