Nomenclatural History	The species Rhodobium marinum was originally described and validly published by Hiraishi et al. 1995. Hiraishi et al. formed this name in 1995 by placing the species Rhodopseudomonas marina Imhoff 1984 into the genus Rhodobium Hiraishi et al. 1995 emend. Urdiain et al. 2008. In 2008, Urdiain et al. established Rhodobium marinum as the basonym of Afifella marina (Imhoff 1984) Urdiain et al. 2009 emend. Hördt et al. 2020 .
