Nomenclatural History
The species Thiomonas cuprina was originally described and validly published by Moreira and Amils 1997. Kelly et al. published an emended description of this species in 2007. Battaglia-Brunet et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of (Katayama-Fujimura et al. 1984) Kelly and Wood 2006 emend. Battaglia-Brunet et al. 2011 in 2011.
