Nomenclatural History
The species Thiobacillus delicatus was originally described by Mizoguchi et al. 1976. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1984 the name was revived and validly published by Katayama-Fujimura et al.. In 2005, Kelly and Wood established as the basonym of (Katayama-Fujimura et al. 1984) Kelly and Wood 2006 emend. Battaglia-Brunet et al. 2011 .
