The species Pseudomonas halophila was originally described by Fendrich 1988. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 29 in 1989. This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 93 in 2014. In 2006, Sorokin and Tindall established as the basonym of Sorokin and Tindall 2006 .
