The species Pseudomonas syzygii was originally described by Roberts et al. 1990. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 34 in 1990. In 2004, Vaneechoutte et al. established Pseudomonas syzygii as the basonym of
Ralstonia syzygii (Roberts et al. 1990) Vaneechoutte et al. 2004 emend. Safni et al. 2014
.
