Nomenclatural History
|
The genus Azomonas was originally proposed by Winogradsky 1938. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Johnstone published an emended description of this genus in 1974. New and Tchan established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Azomonotrichon Thompson and Skerman 1981
in 1982.
