Nomenclatural History
|
The species Shewanella algae was originally described and validly published by Simidu et al. 1990. Trüper and De' Clari corrected this name from Shewanella alga (sic) to Shewanella algae . Nozue et al. published an emended description of this species in 1992. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Szeinbaum et al. in 2018. Szeinbaum et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Shewanella haliotis Kim et al. 2007
in 2018.
