Nomenclatural History
The species Vibrio tapetis was originally described and validly published by Borrego et al. 1996. Balboa and Romalde published an emended description of this species in 2013. In 2013, Balboa and Romalde reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (Borrego et al. 1996) Balboa and Romalde 2013 emend. Levican et al. 2017 .
