Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Aeromonas hydrophila hydrophila was originally described by Stanier 1943. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Huys et al. published an emended description of this subspecies in 2002. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Schubert in 1974. In 1964, Schubert reduced (Chester 1901) Stanier 1943 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Beaz-Hidalgo et al. 2013 to the rank of subspecies.
