Nomenclatural History
The species Pectobacterium chrysanthemi was originally described by Brenner et al. 1973. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Hauben et al. published an emended description of this species in 1998. Brenner et al. formed this name in 1973 by placing the species Burkholder et al. 1953 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Waldee 1945 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Hauben et al. 1998. In 2005, Samson et al. established as the basonym of (Burkholder et al. 1953) Samson et al. 2005 .
