Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Salmonella choleraesuis choleraesuis was originally described by Le Minor et al. 1982. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 18 in 1985. This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 80 in 2005. Howey et al. corrected this name from (sic) to . In 1982, Le Minor et al. reduced corrig. (Smith 1894) Weldin 1927 (Approved Lists 1980) to the rank of subspecies. Tindall et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of (Kauffmann and Edwards 1952) Le Minor and Popoff 1987 in 2005.
