Nomenclatural History
The species Salmonella typhi was originally described by Warren and Scott 1930. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. This name was placed onto the nomina taxorum conservanda by Judicial Opinion 18 in 1963. Tindall et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of (Kauffmann and Edwards 1952) Le Minor and Popoff 1987 in 2005.
