Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Yersinia pseudotuberculosis pestis was originally described by Bercovier et al. 1980. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 7 in 1981. This name was placed onto the nomina taxorum rejicienda by Judicial Opinion 60 in 1985. Judicial Commission conserved (Lehmann and Neumann 1896) van Loghem 1944 (Approved Lists 1980) against this rejected subspecies in 1985.
