Nomenclatural History
The species Pasteurella gallicida was originally described by Buchanan 1925. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. This name was placed onto the nomina taxorum rejicienda by Judicial Opinion 58 in 1985. Skerman et al. established as a later homotypic synonym of (Lehmann and Neumann 1899) Rosenbusch and Merchant 1939 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Mutters et al. 1985 in 1980.
