Nomenclatural History
This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 115 in 2007. The species Cystobacter violaceus was originally described by Kühlwein and Gallwitz 1958. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 2005 the name was revived by Reichenbach. In 2015, Lang et al. established as the basonym of (Reichenbach 2007) Lang et al. 2015 .
