Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Campylobacter fetus fetus was originally described by Sebald and Véron 1963. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 86 in 2008. In 1973, Véron and Chatelain reduced (Smith and Taylor 1919) Sebald and Véron 1963 (Approved Lists 1980) to the rank of subspecies.
