Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Campylobacter sputorum sputorum was originally described by Véron and Chatelain 1973. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Roop et al. published an emended description of this subspecies in 1986. In 1973, Véron and Chatelain reduced (Prévot 1940) Véron and Chatelain 1973 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. On et al. 1998 to the rank of subspecies.
