Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Clostridium stercorarium leptospartum was originally described and validly published by Fardeau et al. 2001. This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 81 in 2008. In 2001, Fardeau et al. reduced Toda et al. 1989 to the rank of subspecies. In 2018, Zhang et al. established as the basonym of (Toda et al. 1989) Zhang et al. 2018 .
