Nomenclatural History
The species Ruminococcus productus was originally described and validly published by Ezaki et al. 1994. Ezaki et al. formed this name in 1994 by placing the species (Prévot 1941) Smith 1957 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Sijpesteijn 1948 emend. Rogosa 1974 (Approved Lists 1980). In 2008, Liu et al. established as the basonym of (Prévot 1941) Liu et al. 2008 emend. Maturana and Cárdenas 2021 .
