Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Selenomonas ruminantium ruminantium was originally described by Wenyon 1926. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 86 in 2008. Bryant published an emended description of this subspecies in 1974. In 1956, Bryant reduced (Certes 1889) Wenyon 1926 (Approved Lists 1980) to the rank of subspecies.
