Nomenclatural History
The subspecies Syntrophomonas wolfei wolfei was originally described and validly published by Lorowitz et al. 1989. In 1989, Lorowitz et al. reduced McInerney et al. 1982 emend. Wu et al. 2007 to the rank of subspecies.
