Nomenclatural History	The species Bacillus acidocaldarius was originally described by Darland and Brock 1971. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. In 1992, Wisotzkey et al. established Bacillus acidocaldarius as the basonym of Alicyclobacillus acidocaldarius (Darland and Brock 1971) Wisotzkey et al. 1992 emend. Goto et al. 2006 .
